As usual, I can’t seem to get my ass in gear to write up my work. I have found every reason to not do it, including installing Win8. I am not sure why I think that I need to put off my work until it is over a week late, but that seems to be my current plan
I did read an article about perfectionism getting in the way of getting any work done, but really, if I was a perfectionist, I would at least get something done. Right?
So here I sit still procrastinating, thinking that by typing up this that I am actually doing something.
Oh well, back to work.
So as always, I am changing my school options again. Due to an impending move to Florida I find myself in the upsetting position of not being able to complete my program of study at CCSU. To make matters worse, the new school is not accepting any transfer credits . So back to the drawing board I go.
On an up note, CalU has a great program in Technology Education and I find myself looking forward to starting the fall semester.
Of course, all this was started because I hate snow and ice. I don’t think I can handle another winter in Connecticut. This last winter was the worst I can remember.
So with this in mind, I set my mind to finishing my CV, updating my resume and praying to the job gods that I can find a new job for the Fall before my house sells up here in the icebox.
Before you say ‘Not another harangue against the education system,’ let me say that this is the view from an adult student and my personal musings about college.
First: The course requirements are or seem to be very arbitrary. Why do I need to take a history course if I am going to school to become a technology teacher? I know that there are several common requirements for all teachers but seriously, how much history do they think I will be teaching?
Second: Why are we required to work through a year’s worth of content in 15 weeks? The reading and analysis that some of these professors are requiring have forced me to take the course twice. Once to get the overview and start the research and once to hand in the coursework and get a grade.
More to follow.
In this foray into the world of blogging, I thought I would just introduce myself and give a brief view into my world..
